At a nearby red light, the two were hit when another car smashed into the side of them. Luckily the two of them were fine and they were not injured during the collision. The other vehicle was more damaged then theirs were. However, the two of them were still left shaken up by the accident.

Samuel stated, “Me and Connie were just driving. We just finished the 1,000 steps and were at the lights and another car came smashing into the side of us,’ said Samuel, who appeared on the New Zealand version of Married At First Sight in 2018. I don’t think that’s happened to me in a while and I think we were just shocked. We were like, ‘What the hell just happened?'”
Although they had been hit by the other car, they were still helpful toward the driver of the other car. They helped her access the damage of her car, which would require mechanical assistance.

Samuel would continue on by saying, “Connie took a photo of me trying to help the poor lady out and put her bumper back on. It had come off and was mangled. Safe to say she was not going anywhere.” He would also post on social media the picture as well as the caption reading, “Poor thing… that 100 per cent woke us up more than our morning coffee.” He thanked his lucky charm that he usually keeps in his car, which is an air freshener that is shaped like a Converse sneaker and is attached to his rear-view mirror.
Samuel appeared on the New Zealand version of Married at First Sight but made friendships with the Australian cast. This happened after he was relocated to Melbourne. While Connie appeared on this year’s season of the Married at First Sight and was paired with Gold Coast miner, Jonethen Musulin but they would later split up.
