Married at First Sight Spoilers- Herz and Micallef Receive Backlash
Tash Herz was one half of the first lesbian couple that appeared on Married at First Sight Australia and was searching for a bride. She would be married to Amanda Micallef.
Although they are no longer together, their season will still be airing to the United States for the first time this Wednesday. However, it seems not everyone can get behind the idea that there will be a same-sex couple on the show and the couple, Herz and Micallef, was met with homophobia after the promo was first dropped in the United States.
Herz took to Instagram during the weekend to talk about the hate that she has received, “Our series of Married at First Sight streams in the US on Lifetime in three days and the homophobia is already BLAZING which just makes me really proud of the response from Australia.” The Promo was posted to Lifetime’s Instagram account and there were many homophobic comments associated with it.
Married at First Sight Spoilers- Comments on Instagram
Homophobic comments included, “Why are they pushing sodomite, satanic acts so much in media, we will never accept it, us God’s children.” Another comment read, “This is a Sin in God’s eyes, it makes him vomit no matter how much you would like to justify it, it’s sick.” While another one read, “Man and woman is the way God intended.”
However, other viewers were quick to call out the homophobic commenters out for their behavior or even counteract the negativity with one writing, “Finally we see all realities of love is love is love being displayed on Australian TV!” Another fan commented, “It was so wonderful to watch, and guess what folks, it’s what real life is!” Another fan stated, “Women like women, men like men, literally not a thing wrong with that. And it doesn’t affect you! Tell me how would your God feel about you judging others so harshly?”
