MAFS’ Katie Conrad and Derek Sherman, Meka Jones and Michael Watson, Mindy Shiben and Zack Justice, Jessica Studer, and Austin Hurd, along with Taylor Dunklin, were featured in real-time, with Brandon Reid unable to be present, which would be explained during the episode.

Finale show host Kevin Frazier interviewed all remaining cast members, with full-season retrospectives shown for the original five couples, and nine of the ten cast members gathering for a lively group discussion.

Married At First Sight Spoilers – Katie Conrad And Derek Sherman – Broken Heart Seen In Splitsville

Derek announced that he and Katie were no longer married. An explanation of that outcome included his recount of Katie’s admission to reconnecting with a significant other shortly after Decision Day. Katie’s reason for divorcing centered on her belief that there was no physical or emotional connection between them. It was a shame to see that this couple divorced, as they represented one of only two pairings who remain committed on Decision Day.

Along with her admitted romantic connection within two weeks of Decision Day, Katie also met with another male cast member for drinks after the divorce, as will be explained later in this article. Derek said that, due to all that’s happened, he’s not ready to dive back into the dating world.

Married At First Sight – Meka Jones And Michael Watson – Sustained Feelings And Extra Perspective

Meka and Michael apologized to each other for the drama that occurred between them during their marriage that ended in divorce on Decision Day. While a love match didn’t occur, a recognition of the other person’s dignity was meaningful to witness.

Separate from the words Michael and Meka offered to each other were the ones he had with Kevin. The show host asked Michael a series of questions about Brandon, which involved a legal matter that developed after Decision Day. That led to Michael momentarily walking off the set. Kevin and Michael talked things out and returned together.

Neither Meka nor Michael were open to currently exploring the dating world.

Married At First Sight – Mindy Shiben and Zack Justice – Reflection Brings Recognition

Mindy held to her belief that Zack hadn’t taken the marriage seriously. She also reiterated her speculation that he entered MAFS in order to pursue publicity.

Zack offered a direct apology for his actions, while not agreeing that he married Mindy as a play for publicity. Mindy said that while she was hurt, his apology meant a lot to her.

A friend of Mindy’s joined the cast to talk about their mutual friend, or now former friend, Lindsay. Zack admitted having been in touch with her but said that nothing serious happened and that they weren’t in current contact.

Zack also acknowledged calling Katie, who got together with him for drinks, which surprised the other cast members. Katie advised that nothing happened between them and she wasn’t interested in dating Zack.

Mindy and Zack both said they were doing well. Mindy was focused on her career, while Zack advised that he was having fun.

Married At First Sight – Jessica Studer And Austin Hurd – Happily Ever After

Jessica and Austin affirmed that they are still married and looked to be even happier then they were on Decision Day.

The one issue both parties were previously concerned about was Austin’s work schedule. Both people said that their relationship was actually strengthened by the time he spent away from home, which reflected their growth as a couple.

Jessica and Austin met each other’s families through the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays, which allowed their bond to be shared. They plan to get a dog and buy a house in the near future. Having children down the road is also a serious consideration, with Jessica saying that she wanted to get to know her husband better in the meantime.

Taylor And Brandon – Legal Action Taken

Taylor and Brandon had a spark on the day they married. But that proved to be the high point for this one-time couple.

Sadly, much of the strife that was seen throughout the series and the cold break that happened on Decision Day was followed by a more serious issue.

Taylor and Brandon encountered one another while out at a bar in the Washington, D.C. area where the series was recorded. That led to both parties spending a day in jail and then having restraining orders issued against each other. So, Brandon wasn’t able to appear on the finale, with Taylor being present, as neither person is legally allowed to knowingly be in the same space with the former spouse.
