“I Know What You Did Last Summer” Sequel: More On The Film
Sony Pictures anticipates releasing the movie in theaters on July 18, 2025. In addition to the cast announcements, Jennifer Kaytin Robinson is directing the sequel and Neal Moritz is producing it. The movie is written by Sam Lansky and Kaytin Robinson from a draft by Leah McKendrick.
As some fans know, the original movie followed four teenaged friends, played by Hewitt and Prinze Jr., as well as Sarah Michelle Gellar, and Ryan Phillippe.
The group was part of a tragic accident (in the summer) and found themselves being stalked by a hook-wielding psychopath in their small town.
The movie, loosely based on the book by Lois Duncan (of the same name), was an instant hit when released in 1997, prompting the sequel in 1998, I Still Know What You Did Last Summer.
In 2006, a direct-to-video version of the film franchise, I’ll Always Know What You Did Last Summer, was released.
