A new matchmaking show is on the way courtesy of Netflix, and guess what? It promises to be every bit as entertaining as possible.
The upcoming show titled “Jewish Matchmaking” will air on May 3. The show is a spinoff of “Indian Matchmaking” which has successfully completed two seasons will have its third season out by April 21.
Jewish Matchmaking — First Look At Some Of The Contents Of The Show
The matchmaker that will be matchmaking couples on “Jewish Matchmaking” is Aleeza Ben Shalom. She’s done great jobs in matching Jewish singles in all parts of the world with their perfect partners for over ten years.
The show will be done in U.S. and Israel. According to Netflix, “Jewish Matchmaking features singles in the U.S. and Israel as they turn their dating life over to a top Jewish matchmaker. Will using the traditional practice of shidduchim dating help them find their soulmate in today’s world?”
Shidduchim is said to be a system used for matchmaking. It’s used to introduce Jewish singles to each other with the hopes it’ll lead to marriage.
In the trailer, Aleeza told viewers to, “Join me and daters from across the U.S. and Israel as we tap into ancient wisdom and apply it to modern love, on season one of Jewish Matchmaking.”
Jewish Matchmaking — How Aleeza Intends To Handle The Show
In an exclusive interview with E! News, Aleeza told the outlet that nowadays people rely on dating apps to find their perfect match but at the end of the day, it doesn’t work out.
“In today’s world of modern love, we are used to turning to technology to find love. We download apps and we upload profiles. We swipe left or swipe right. And yet, somehow finding ‘the one’ has never been harder.”
She went on to say that where dating apps fail, “That’s where I come in…but I’m not your granny’s matchmaker!”
Netflix is keeping details of the upcoming show a secret until it’s near its due date. However, in the trailer, a man who’s part of the show was asked why he needed a matchmaker and so many women, and he replied, “I don’t want to have to explain to her why ‘Curb Your Enthusiasm’ is funny.”
Jewish Matching is said to be 8 episodes and will run for 30 minutes per episode. It’ll air on Netflix.
