All We Know About the Reported ‘The Devil Wears Prada’ Sequel
In a new report released by Puck, Meryl Streep and Emily Blunt have reportedly signed on to reprise their roles as fashion boss Miranda Priestly and Emily Charlton, Miranda’s former assitance now reportedly turned major exec.
The premise for the upcoming movie will likely see the two ladies face off in the bid to control the fashion industry. It reads: “Miranda’s (Meryl Streep) career goes into decline, which forces her to go face to face with Emily (Emily Blunt), now a major exec at a luxury group, whose advertising dollars Miranda desperately needs.”

It’s so surreal to be receiving this news, because just a few months ago, Anne Hathaway, who played enthusiastic up and comer Andy Sachs in the movie, categorically told E! News that she doesn’t believe a sequel will be happening. “I don’t think a continuation of that story is probably ever gonna happen,” she said at the time.
At the moment, it’s yet to be confirmed whether Hathaway will be joining her co-stars in the sequel, especially since she’s been openly dismissive of the movie getting a second part for years.
“I don’t know if there can be [a sequel],” she said in 2022 during a chat on The View. “I just think that movie was in a different era. Now everything’s gone so digital and that movie is centred around the concept of producing a physical thing and it’s just, it’s just very different.”
