New Docuseries To Tell Jared Fogle’s Disturbing Story

You may know Jared Fogle as the man who famously claimed to have lost a lot of weight – 241 pounds to be exact – gouging himself on subway sandwiches and walking daily. For a long time, he made a name for himself promoting the famous chain’s sandwiches.

In a 1991 interview, he credited the famous food chain for saving his life as a college student suffering from obesity. “I was reborn in every sense of the word,” he told Indiana university’s campus newspaper about his remarkable transformation. “Subway helped save my life and start over. I can’t ever repay that.”

However, in 2015, the public image he had so far cultivated for himself, so much so that he became a spokesperson for Subway, was shattered.

This spectacular downfall is now the subject of a three-part documentary titled, “Jared from Subway: Catching A Monster”.

The docuseries will premiere on ID Monday, March 6.

Jared Fogle – And His Obsession With Child Pornography

In 2015, it was revealed that Jared Fogle had a number of child pornography in his phone and even traveled across state lines to have sex with minors.

Fogle’s disturbing secret came to the light when federal authorities raided his home and removed electronics, and then arrested the director of his charitable foundation, Russell Taylor.

The police found that Taylor had a cache with over 400 sexually explicit photos and videos that he produced. He shared most of these videos, including the child porn he downloaded from the internet, with Fogle.

Following the investigation, Fogle, the father of two, pleaded guilty to the charges and was sentenced to more than 15 years in federal prison for possession of child pornography and traveling across state lines to have sex with a minor.

Taylor was sentenced to 27 years in prison for child pornography charges. He and Fogle were also found to abuse his two stepdaughters.
