Still heartbroken over her false-positive pregnancy test and knowing that a baby is the only thing keeping them together, viewers saw Elly head down to The Backlane Bar to drink away her problems. But she only made things worse for herself – having a one-night stand with an apparent stranger. However, viewers know that the man in question wasn’t a stranger at all, but Finn Kelly’s younger brother, Shaun Watkins (Brad Moller).
When Elly starts to suffer from dizzy spells and nausea, her good friend Leo Tanaka (Tim Kano) suggests that she goes to the hospital to get checked out. When she returns, she confides in him that she is actually pregnant now, but it’s impossible that Mark is the father, leaving only one possible candidate…
Neighbours Spoilers – A Shocking Pregnancy Twist
As Elly hasn’t yet told Mark that the pregnancy test showed a false positive, the recent news gives her a get out clause. Though Leo advices against it, suggesting that Elly should only be honest with Mark from this point forward, Elly decides she is going to pretend that the baby is Mark’s to secure them a future together.
Leo is disgusted by Elly’s decision, almost revealing the truth in front of Mark. Growing up without a father himself, Leo knows just how reckless such a decision can be. In the end, he decides that he will have his friends back and keep quiet about the secret, but tells her that he wants nothing more to do with her lies.
