Shane is sweet to hope that Andrea Somers will help them in tracking down the real Dee, but it backfires fiercely when Andrea teams up with her mum Heather instead, best remembered as evil nanny Alice!
Toadie has finally found out what Andrea told Sonya when she visited her in hospital: she was mistaken for another woman when visiting the Salamanca Markets. He’s sceptical, knowing he can’t trust her.
Karl however is interested to know more, inviting her over to the Kennedy house. As Andrea attempts to recall what happened at the market it becomes obvious that her memory is clouded, so Karl decides to step in. He puts her under hypnosis, attempting to unlock some hidden memories.
It seems that Karl’s plan worked, as Andrea soon recalls that the name of the man from the markets was Ian. She can almost remember where it was that Ian was staying at the time, but the memory is suddenly interrupted by the memory of the abusive behaviour she suffered at the hand of her mother when she was a child.
Concerned about Andrea’s welfare Karl quickly brings her out of her hypnotic state, soothing her best he can. But it seems that well-intentioned Karl may be being played, as Andrea’s outburst wasn’t totally genuine.
Still, as a reward for her help, Andrea is given the opportunity to spend some supervised time with Hugo, her son. She further promises to find out the location of her evil mother so that Toadie can ensure she finally faces justice for attempting to murder Sonya.
Though Toadie and friends might be fooled, viewers will see Andreas duplicitous plan immediately, when she returns home and calls her mother. Andrea tells Heather that she’s going to string the act out as long as possible, hoping that Toadie will like having her around and wants to form a family with her.
Is Toadie about to be fooled all over again?
