David (Takaya Honda) is caught in the middle of a storm next week as neighbour Xanthe Canning (Lilly Van Der Meer) wrongly accuses him of stealing painkillers.
The Neighbours storyline begins later this week when we see Aaron (Matt Wilson) struggling to control his pain and addiction to the medication. Though he has run out of pills he manages to get more by stealing Xanthe’s from her bag when she pays him a visit at The Shed.
Thankfully Aaron resists temptation and doesn’t end up taking the pills but eventually breaks down to David, admitting that he has become addicted to pain killers since he injured his back a month or so ago.
A few days later Xanthe suffers another seizure after putting too much pressure on herself. To provide some relief she reaches for her bag intending to take some painkillers but is confused when they aren’t there. She therefore goes to David to asks for a new prescription but is shocked when he reveals that he has her pills, maintaining that they fell out of her bag at The Shed and he forgot to give her them back.
Neighbours spoilers indicate that Xanthe isn’t convinced but David doesn’t want her to find out about Aaron, so he tries to distract her by offering to help with her biology work. She accepts, but can’t help noticing how shaken up David is, leaving him unable to concentrate.
When Xanthe then finds a prescription for pain killers that David filled in but never used (he wrote it when he considered weaning Aaron off the pills,) she jumps immediately to the wrong conclusion.
Xanthe quickly confronts David, accusing him of stealing pain killers, to which he is addicted. He can’t give up his husband’s secret, so how will he respond?
