Neighbours fans watched as Finn finally got what was coming to him, when he drowned in a shallow grave that he had dug for Susan Kennedy. Although Finn’s death was totally an accident, and one of his own making, Elly foolishly climbed into the grave to check whether he was really dead and left him rather than trying to get him out. Making herself look even more suspicious, Elly was seen trying to cover his body with mud when the police arrived.

Elly was then questioned extensively by the police, with Sky Mangle acting as lead detective on the case. Sky is facing a lot of pressure to deal with the investigation thoroughly as it’s so high profile, meaning she is really focusing her attention on Elly and not skipping a single detail.
As part of the police force, Elly’s ex-fiancé Mark Brennan is worried about her, knowing that she is innocent but understanding how guilty she does look. Elly herself is also worried when she realises how much attention she is getting from the police, correctly fearing that the authorities are trying to gather as much evidence against her as possible to be able to charge her with Finn’s murder.

Unfortunately, her fears come true when the full forensics report comes back from the crime scene and she faces charges. Knowing how bad things are, Mark urges Elly to come clean about what happened, and fully cooperate with the police.
As a victim of Finn’s, Toadie agrees to be Elly’s lawyer and take on her case, even though this means going against Sky, his old friend. Who’s going to come out victorious?
