The Rebecchi family are going to be at the centre of a heart breaking storyline over the next few months, as Sonya is diagnosed with stage four cancer.

While Toadie is struggling alone, trying to come to terms with his wife’s diagnosis, he is given even more things to worry about when he receives a gut wrenching letter from Andrea’s lawyers.

The letter reveals that Andrea is trying to reclaim custody of baby son Hugo, who was conceived when she tricked Toadie into sleeping with her. She is currently still receiving psychiatric treatment in a facility in Tasmania, but she is making plans for her release.

With everything that’s going on with them, the Rebecchi’s try their best to ignore Andrea’s threats. However, when a social worker turns up at their door, they have no choice but to face this problem.

The social worker has been sent by Andrea lawyers who are trying, in any way possible, to prove that Sonya is an unfit mother to Hugo. As this is far from the truth the Rebecchi’s handle the social worker with little problem, but Sonya can’t help but worry about the future.

As she’s suffering with cancer, Sonya worries that Andrea and her legal team will find out and try to use it against her, arguing that as she is unwell the Rebecchi household isn’t fit to look after a baby.

Would Andrea really stoop so low as to use Sonya’s cancer in her favour?

Tune into Neighours on Friday 8th February to see this storyline begin.
