Neighbours Spoilers: Familiar Faces Descend On Erinsborough In 40th Anniversary Episode

Two of our favourite Ramsay Street residents, Sheila Canning and Susan Kennedy, will be facing up to their criminal past at the end of February.

But it’s not what you think!

It’s well known that Collette and Jackie, who play Sheila and Susan respectfully, were stars of the Australian prison drama Prisoner: Cell Block H. Some people might know the show better as Wentworth Prison – a modern remake of the original show that ran from 1979 to 1986.

Neighbours – 40th Anniversary Reunion In The Works

To celebrate the 40th anniversary of its first airing, some of the old cast are reuniting on an episode of Neighbours. Jane Clifton, who played top dog Margo Gaffney, and Betty Bobbitt, who played Judy Bryant will be joining Sheila and Susan in The Waterhole.

Jackie originally played Julie ‘Chook’ Egbert on the show in 1985 and 1986. She had many memorable storylines, including being caught up in a terrorist siege in the prison. Notably, Julie fell in love with the prison handyman after he saved her during a riot, and she eventually married him. Quite the opposite of Susan!

Neighbours – Many Past Stars Crossed Over From Prisoner

Collette played Doreen Burns, who was in prison for forgery. Doreen actually escaped prison with her girlfriend Franky Doyle, but upon Franky’s death struggled to cope and ended up going back to Wentworth prison. Doreen was a childish and intimidated character, much unlike the character of Sheila who is well known for being feisty.

Many other past stars also crossed over from the Prisoner: Cellblock H world into Neighbours, including Lyn Scully, Madge Bishop and Angie Rebecchi. Interestingly, the show’s creator Reg Watson actually went on to create Neighbours, which might explain why there were so many crossovers.

Though information regarding the reunion is being kept under wraps, it’s sure to be an exciting episode.
