Toadie is understandably struggling to keep it together after Sonya is diagnosed with stage 4 ovarian cancer this week, leaving her and her family’s future uncertain.
Sonya has requested that Toadie doesn’t tell anyone about her diagnosis – she doesn’t want any sympathy or attention. Such decision soon takes its toll on Toadie though, who is struggling to deal with the diagnosis alone.
Neighbours Spoilers – Toadie Explodes
While Sonya has been ill Yashvi has taken over duties at the nursery, but things aren’t going so well when she accidentally kills a few of the smaller plants. When Toadie finds out he explodes into a fit of rage, scaring poor Yashvi.
She is understandably confused by her uncle’s outburst, which is totally unjustified if it’s over a few small plants. Shane is also baffled by his brother’s reaction and passes his concerns onto Sonya. When she hears what has happened, she realises that Toadie cannot cope with the diagnosis on his own. For this reason, Sonya decides to discuss her cancer diagnosis with Shane and Dipi, who promise to support the family in every way possible.
Neighbours Spoilers – Karl Kennedy Is Toadie’s Next Victim
Although the burden is slightly reduced, Toadie still struggles to cope. This time, he lashes out at Karl, who gets the blame for everything that is happening to Sonya.
Toadie claims that Karl should have recognised what Sonya was going through a lot sooner, considering that she had been open with him about her symptoms. Karl is sympathetic, realising that Toadie needs someone to blame, and so takes everything that is thrown at him.
Sonya is left deeply concerned – how is Toadie going to cope?
