After days of experiencing worrying symptoms Sonya is forced to confront her health after collapsing in pain and being rushed to hospital. At first, she and her loved ones believed that it was just the after effects of Alice’s poisoning which would eventually wear off. However, her latest trip to the hospital proves otherwise.
Neighbours Spoilers – A Devastating Diagnosis
After being checked over by the doctors, it is revealed to her that she has a cyst on her ovaries which needs to be removed right away. She immediately goes into surgery which is successful, but Neighbours spoilers indicate the relief doesn’t last long.
Sonya is soon visited by an oncologist, who has heart breaking news for her. When tested, the cyst was found to be cancerous. The illness has already spread to her entire body and it’s revealed to her that she has stage 4 cancer.

Like the powerful woman that she is, Sonya is ready to fight and begins preparation for treatment. Toadie is both impressed and inspired by her optimism and promises to be right by her side every step of the way, vowing to tackle the cancer together.
As she doesn’t want any sympathy Sony asks Toadie to keep her diagnosis a secret for now, rather than letting their family and friends know.
The storyline will come to a tragic close in March as Neighbours producers have confirmed that actress Eve Morey will be departing from the show after ten years.
