Following the breakup, Chloe confides in Pierce Grayson (Tim Robards), who provides a shoulder to cry on. After he finds out Elly is still texting Chloe he confronts her, asserting that it is not helping Chloe to feel better.
Although Elly insists that she is just trying to maintain their friendship she and Pierce come to blows, arguing by Lassiters lake. After Pierce storms off, Elly does too but she slips and falls on her stomach, immediately fearing for the health of her unborn baby.

Thankfully Pierce isn’t too far gone to hear Elly’s cry for help, so rushes back to help her. He ensures that she is taken straight to hospital, where doctors confirm that both mother and baby are just fine.
When Chloe hears the news she is relieved, but curious to know why Pierce and Elly had been together in the first place. He confesses to her that he confronted Elly about her texts, which angers Chloe as she told him in confidence.

Chloe decides to have an honest conversation with Elly about how she is feeling and where they stand with each other. They both agree that they don’t want to lose their friendship but some space is vital to move on.
Chloe then tracks down Pierce, making it clear that she’s angry about what he did. Demanding an explanation, Pierce suddenly reveals that he’s actually in love with Chloe. Her feelings for Pierce never really went away, but is it too soon?
