Paige returned to Erinsborough last week to get away from Queensland, where she and Jack Callahan were having problems. Jack soon followed, but the pair ended up splitting when Jack revealed he wanted to go back into the priesthood. Conveniently, Mark was also in town, working as detective on the recent gun ring case.
Mark and Paige soon realise that what they had never really gone away, and they still love each other deeply. Though they live in different parts of the country, the new couple is determined to make their relationship work. They’re so determined in fact that Paige takes a huge risk and asks Mark to marry her, convinced that fate has brought them together once more and they should take the hint.
Mark says yes, and the pair plan to marry as part of the Lassiters Wedding Expo. Much to the couple’s surprise and delight, Jack turns up on the day of the wedding with Gabe, his and Paige’s son.
It’s great news for Paige but Mark is still nervous that something will go wrong as his track record when it comes to weddings has been terrible. But thankfully the ceremony is beautiful and problem-free, so the happy couple enjoys as much time together as they can before they work out how they will handle their long-distance marriage.
However, Jack has a plan that could make life much easier for them. He knows that Mark cannot leave Adelaide as he is looking after his sick mother Fay, so he makes an intriguing offer that will make things for Paige and Mark a lot easier.
Are they headed for a move to Adelaide?
