Neighbours’ Harlow Robinson (Jemma Donovan) makes a shocking decision in David Tanaka’s (Takaya Honda) kidney transplant storyline.

As we’ve reported, David Tanaka was the victim of a hit and run accident that has left him with only one kidney, which is currently failing. In an effort to find a donor Leo Tanaka (Tim Kano) returns to Ramsay Street to get tested but he, like everyone else, isn’t a viable donor.

The news sends shockwaves through the residents of Ramsay Street. Harlow is annoyed that she isn’t old enough to be a donor, so puts it upon herself to find a way to make sure David gets the kidney he needs.

The first thing she does for this is ask Roxy Willis to be tested as a possible donor – she isn’t family, but she could still be a match. And Harlow was right to ask, as the result from Roxy Willis’ (Zima Anderson) first test show that she is a possible match. She knows it’s great news, but secretly worries about what going further could mean for her. Scared of donating her kidney, Roxy hides the fact that her test was positive and encourages Harlow to carry on seeking other potential donors instead.

Harlow is quickly running out of options and is terrified for her uncle, but remains determined. Decided that she must do all that she can, she contacts her father Robert Robinson in prison, asking him to consider testing whether he is a viable donor. He agree’s, but there’s a condition…
