Neighbours spoilers reveal controversial lawsuit storyline for Toadie Rebecchi. (Ryan Moloney) Erinsborough’s local lawyer Toadie Rebecchi makes a controversial decision next week as he does anything he can to try and save The Sonya Rebecchi Foundation.
When Toadie finds out that his charity, set up in memory of his late wife Sonya, is coming to the end of their funds he is horrified and desperate to find a quick solution.
Seeking advice from his neighbours, Karl and Susan push him to stay positive and try to come up with a way to earn the charity some more money. This comes sooner than he things, when Kyle Canning asks him to help him with something serious.
Kyle is horrified at everything that has happened following the sex tape scandal, which saw an intimate moment between he and Amy at Lassiters hotel being uploaded online. Hotel owner and Amy’s father Paul flies into damage control, arranging a conference at the community centre where local residents can gather and where he can hopefully regain their trust.
Though in public Paul is serious about the matter he is much cooler and nonchalant in private, infuriating Kyle, who can’t believe Paul’s blasé attitude. He is even more furious when he finds out that Paul is pressuring another sex-tape victim into taking a very low compensation offer. Against Amy’s request, Kyle decides to get justice by asking Toadie to represent him in a class action lawsuit against Paul and Lassiters.
Toadie is unsure at first, not wanting to upset his friends and neighbours. However, once he realises that the controversial case would earn him enough money to save The Sonya Rebecchi Foundation the decision becomes a little easier. He too believes that the hotel victims deserve better compensation and therefore agrees to Kyle request for representation.
Will Toadie’s actions send shockwaves through Erinsborough?
