The duo will appear on screen in September, 27 years after they were last seen. That means only long-time fans will remember their original time on the show. When the twins first set foot in Erinsborough they both assumed the guise of ‘Linda Giles’, an identity that both women shared as part of a witness protection program after they witnessed a murder.

Of course, secrets never stay secret on Ramsay Street and it wasn’t long before both Christina and Caroline made a name for themselves – especially when the both of them caught the attention of Paul Robinson (Stefan Ramsay).

The pair lasted a few years on Ramsay Street until Caroline (Gillian Blakeney) left in May 1992, with Christina (Gayle) following suit a couple of months later.

The Alessi’s return will see Christina come face-to-face with Paul again, her ex-husband and father of her son – a familiar face – Andrew. But it will also see Caroline coming face-to-face with Paul, who also had a romantic relationship. Will their arrival on the street upset Paul’s relationship with Terese?

In a statement, Gayle explained how excited she was to be invited back to Neighbours after so many years, especially considering their storyline is so great. Gillian agreed, adding how comfortable and at home they felt right away, even though there’s been so many changes.

There are no details of their actual storyline yet, but it’s sure to be awkward for Paul!
