Netflix Announces New Season of ‘Emily In Paris’ Following Massive Positive Fan Reception

Hurray, our collective joy has saved one of our favorite shows and led to a fast-tracked season 5 renewal.

Darren Star, the show’s creator, told Tudum: “We’re thrilled with the incredible response to this season of ‘Emily in Paris’ and excited to return for a fifth to continue Emily’s adventures in Rome and Paris!”

Season four sees Emily leave Paris for Rome and start a romance with a hot Italian man, finally putting an end to the whole multi-season love triangle arc. The fact that she opens an office for Agence Grateau in Rome means that she may be spending less time in Paris in the show’s upcoming installments.

Speaking of the new season, Darren shared: “Emily’s going to have a presence in Rome. It doesn’t mean she’s not going to be in Paris, but she’s going to have a presence in Rome.”

‘Emily in Paris’ – Star Lily Collins Teases The Future Of Her Adventurous Character

Since arriving in Paris in Season 1 of the show, romance has been at the center of Lily Collins’ Emily character development.

For the upcoming Installment, the showrunners are eager to move Emily on from “vacay mode” and Lily Collins believes Eugenio Franceschini’s Marcello is the best way to do that.

Speaking on Emily’s romantic life, Collins teases, “Marcello is a whole other adventure that we want for Emily because we ultimately want Emily to be able to have a better work/life balance. We want to have Emily be able to smile without condition. We want to see her beyond her vacay mode. And he comes at that perfect time.”

Fun fact: Even though Emily will be dividing her time between Rome and Paris for this fifth season, her Instagram handle will solidly remain, ‘Emily in Paris.’
