Netflix Announces New Weekly Talk Show With John Mulaney

Netflix is getting in to the talk show genre. The streaming giant announced today that they are adding a weekly talk show to their line-up. Netflix funny man John Mulaney is set to host the new series, which doesn’t have an official name yet.  

Netflix has had an impressive collection off stand-up comedies for quite a while now.  The streamer has been featuring comedy specials for almost ten years now, and John Mulaney has always been a fan favorite.  

Netflix Adds New Talk Show

Mulaney actually has several programs already available to be streamed on Netflix, including stand-up comedy routines like Comeback Kid, Kid Gorgeous, and Baby J.

In May 2023 his new series John Mulaney Presents: Everybody’s in L.A. debuted on Netflix and did well.  The six episodes featured Mulaney as host, and some big name guests like Jerry Seinfeld and David Letterman as guest hosts.  

John Mulaney Presents: Everybody’s in L.A tackled current events in Los Angeles, California and was packed full of comedy skits, musical performances, and special guests.  Like Saturday Night Live, except you can watch it any day of the week because it’s on Netflix. 

Ironically, John Mulaney has been a member of the SNL Family since 2018 and received numerous Primetime Emmy Award nominations for his work there.

Who Is John Mulaney

If you haven’t heard of John Mulaney,  you most likely have heard his voice at some point.  Aside from acting and hosting, Mulaney also does a lot of voicework for animated TV shows.  You may have heard his voice on The Simpsons, Big Mouth, or Ugly Americans.

According to Netflix’s official announcement per TV Line, their new weekly talk show will kick off some time in early 2025.  The website adds, “Mulaney will serve as the host, co-showrunner and executive producer of the untitled series, Netflix announced on Thursday.”
