The Menendez Brothers could be freed after bombshell letter surfaces that could prove molestation claims. However, an uncle of the Menendez brothers says they should not be released, the molestation didn’t happen.
Milton Andersen, Kitty Menendez 90 year old brother, according to his lawyer, Kathy Cady, ‘firmly believes that his nephews were not molested. He believes that is a fabrication and he believes that the motive was pure greed’. Cady told Eye Witness News.
The Menendez Brothers Claimed Self Defense
Lyle And Erik Menendez were convicted of killing their parents in 1996. Jose and Kitty were killed in their tv room in their home. The first trial ended in a mistrial.
The boys never denied shooting their parents but claimed self-defense. They shot their parents 14 times with a 12 gauge shotgun in August 1989.
Erik and Lyle have always claimed self-defense. The brothers claimed to be life-long victims of abuse at the hands of their father Jose.
Furthermore, the brothers claimed to be afraid that their parents would kill them when the allegations came out. Their parents would have done anything to keep these allegations from coming out
.
The Menendez Brothers Lacked Evidence
At the time of the trial, there was no evidence to support the brothers abuse claims. The prosecutors believed instead that the brothers wanted their parents fortune.
Andersen, speaking thorough his lawyer, says he wants his nephews to serve their full sentence siting, ‘At the time of the trial, at least according to the court of appeal opinion, one of the brothers said that killing her was – quote – a mercy killing’.
Currently, the DA For LA County, George Gascón, is currently considering pushing for a resentencing hearing after a letter from Erik to his cousin, Andy Cano, has surfaced that could prove the boys claims of abuse.
The letter was written eight months before Jose Menendez was murdered. The letter eludes to severe abuse at the hands of his father.
The Letter Was Published By DailyMail.com states, ‘I’ve been trying to avoid dad. It’s still happening Andy but it’s worse for me now. I can’t explain it. He’s so overweight that I just can’t stand to see him. I never know when it’s going to happen and it’s driving me crazy.
