As many fans already know, Freddie’s character, Dr. Shaun Murphy, has gone through plenty of changes during the first season of the hit ABC show. At a recent press event (via Hollywood Outbreak), Freddie says that despite his character’s autism, viewers can still expect the unexpected.
He told the press, “Yes he will always have autism but he will also always grow as a person. I think broadcast shows in general require a certain amount of stability and that their characters are the same week in and week out. When you watch the show you know what you will get.”
Freddie added, “But I think with a character like Shaun, he has to change. He is very dramatic during the first season and he’s still the same person but at the same time he is also going to learn how to adapt to a new situation and a new environment and this big city and all of the codes and the laws that are put on him. It’s definitely going to be different for him now.”
