According to the latest reports, ABC News is forced to pay $15 million to Trump to settle a defamation lawsuit, George Stephanopoulos forced to issue a public apology.

The development stems from a March incident where Stephanopoulos claimed Trump was found “liable for r*pe.”

Now, ABC News has to pay $15 million as a charitable contribution to a “Presidential foundation and museum to be established by or for Plaintiff, as Presidents of the United States of America have established in the past.”

If that weren’t enough, they also have to cover Trump’s $1M in legal fees.

“ABC News and George Stephanopoulos regret statements regarding President Donald J. Trump made during an interview by George Stephanopoulos with Rep. Nancy Mace on ABC’s This Week on March 10, 2024,” the apology reads.

Of course, the internet certainly did have a lot to say about the matter. Some even commented with, “George Stephanopoulos and ABC’s ratings are in free fall, their credibility is toast, and now their wallet is $15 million lighter—looks like George’s wallet and his reputation are in a race to the bottom!”

Another critic wrote, “How about demanding the firing of Stephanopoulos for this blatant political hit job? Perhaps better still, the FCC which will be reconstituted in January can consider pulling the broadcast license of networks that engage in such defamatory behavior.”

And then there was this comment as well: “With ABC paying $15M to settle with Trump and cutting budgets across the board, how much longer can they justify paying Stephanopoulos $15-18M? The writing’s on the wall at GMA.”
