According to the latest reports, “Donald Trump announces that he will be changing the name of the ‘Gulf of Mexico’ to the ‘Gulf of America.’”

No one certainly saw that coming, right? Trump said he thinks the new name will have a “beautiful ring” to it.

Trump put it this way, “We’re gonna be changing the name of the Gulf of Mexico to the Gulf of America, which has a beautiful ring that covers a lot of territory.”

“The Gulf of America, what a beautiful name.”

Of course, the internet certainly did have a lot to say about the matter. Some even commented with, “While we’re at it, how about renaming the Pacific Ocean the Western American Ocean and the Atlantic Ocean the Eastern American Ocean. But up next is definitely the American canal.”

What’s Next For Donald Trump And His Administration?

Another critic wrote, “The Gulf of Mexico has been known by that name since the 16th century when Spanish explorers first named it “Golfo de México” due to its proximity to New Spain (modern-day Mexico). Changing this name would disregard centuries of history and geographic nomenclature established well before the United States was founded.”

“Public and International Reaction: Such a move would likely face significant backlash, not only from environmental and historical preservationists but also from the international community.”

And then there was this comment as well: “I liked Trump 2016 but I LOVE Trump 2024! He doesn’t care and says what he wants. It’s nice to not have a politician in the WH. He doesn’t care if the media and Democrats fake outrage, he’s inviting it.”
