Change is good, right? That’s what fans and critics on both sides of the aisle are probably thinking to themselves as it looks like Donald Trump now has Facebook under his thumb.

This comes after Mark Zuckerberg announced massive new changes at META, admitting the company went too far with censoring Americans.

What’s more, Zuckerberg also said they are moving the content moderation team from California to Texas.

Some of the changes at Meta will include: Meta will be dumping their fact checkers and will replace them with Community Notes. Simplifying content policies to encourage more debate on issues like immigration and gender.

What’s Next For Donald Trump And His Administration?

Meta will change how they enforce policies to reduce censorship, will focus on people breaking the law instead. Meta will start recommending political content again. The trust and safety team will be moving from California to Texas to “promote free expression.”

If all of that weren’t enough already, Zuckerberg says he will be working with Trump to “push back on governments around the world” including Europe.

Of course, the internet certainly did have a lot to say about the matter. Some comments have even included, “Mark Zuckerberg suddenly saying he’s all about free speech is like Diddy deciding now is a good time to drop a Gospel Album.”

“It’s hilarious to watch all these people change direction now that Trump is going to be president again.”

Another critic wrote, “This is big. But I haven’t used Facebook for years. It has been a thought police zone since Trump was elected.”

“I’d have a lot more respect for him if he didn’t wait until Trump won the election before taking the side of free speech. If Harris would’ve won, I’m sure we’d be hearing about all these communist crackdowns from Meta.”

And then there was this comment as well: “This answers the age old question of what happens when even one man walks into a room of liars and decides to tell the truth—it becomes contagious.”
