Dick Cheney’s Legacy
Cheney was quite controversial with his recent political stance, as he rubbed many within the Republican party the wrong way for his criticisms of current President, Donald Trump.
Cheney even voted for Kamala Harris during the 2024 U.S. election. He was also involved in a terrible hunting incident in 2006 when he accidentally shot a friend that was 76 years of age.
While the individual lived, he still suffered a heart attack and collapsed lung. During Cheney’s time in office, many referred to him as a pivotal player in the “war on terror”, taking U.S. troops into the Iraq War.
In 2012, Cheney received a heart transplant and praised the procedure in 2014 as “the gift of life itself.” Cheney had dealt with a cardiovascular condition for most of his adult years, surviving a number of heart attacks, but going on to enjoy a nice life.
