The DOJ Ends Their Case Against Donald Trump
The DOJ cited their policy that presidents can’t be prosecuted however it was assumed they would work up until the “last day.”
Smith said, “What’s interesting here is that the DOJ is moving to end them even before he takes office, citing the longstanding DOJ policy that sitting presidents can’t be prosecuted.”
He continued, “And there were some thought that maybe special counsel Jack Smith was going to sprint through the finish line, was going to work up until the last day, force Trump to fire him, wait till a new Attorney General was appointed.”
“But that does not appear to be the thinking inside the department. The thinking is that these cases can’t go forward.”
It goes without saying that the internet certainly did have a lot to say about the matter.
What’s Next For Donald Trump?
Some even commented with, “It’s telling that the DOJ isn’t even willing to wait until the last day to try to make a case. If they had real substance, they would be fighting to the bitter end. Instead, the cases are being dropped now, acknowledging that the entire ‘investigation was political theater.”
Another critic wrote, “This DOJ move is monumental. The decision to drop the cases against President-elect Trump, even before he officially takes office, signals the recognition that these cases were on shaky ground from the start.”
“Despite the relentless pursuit and endless speculation, it appears the DOJ understands its own policy: you simply don’t prosecute a sitting president. This is a clear victory and a critical turning point that validates Trump’s ongoing resilience in the face of opposition.”
And then there was this comment as well: “100%. It never was about the law; it was always about taking down Trump whatever way possible. Despicable tactics that cost the people of the US millions of wasted dollars in legal fees for nothing.”
“They should be charged for wasting taxpayers money. Many millions used and probably siphoned out at the same time. They should face criminal charges imo.”

Whenever I get in trouble with the law, I’m going to cite trump. He’s been involved in everything illegal.
No I think these were very legitimate charges he did do these things. But what’s the sense of working until the last day when you know the new doj is going to drop it. Every Department that he is setting up are going to be full of Yes Men Who go along with every foolish scheme that he has. It does not matter that he is a convicted criminal and that he did do many more things that he should have been convicted for. I also expect that he will do many illegal things while he is in this time also. I fear for this country
