Even before Donald Trump won the election, The View brought a lot of heated discussion from Whoopi Goldberg, Joy Behar, Sunny Hostin, Sara Haines, Ana Navarro, and Alyssa Farah Griffin. Unfortunately, the ABC show has been a mouthpiece for only one side of the political spectrum. Now, it’s been reported that a big shake-up might happen.
The View Needs To Change With The Times?
Whoopi Goldberg got so outspoken about Donald Trump’s running mate, J.D Vance, that she ended up apologizing to him. Of course, she’s been against Trump and the Republicans since about forever. But, her views might not be all that welcome by ABC execs in the future.
That might mean a huge change of direction for Whoopi Goldberg and her fellow co-hosts on The View. But perhaps that might be a lot better than not having a well-paying job. Strong rumors suggest that change is looming, and this week, Radar Online cited a source and used the words, “panic mode.”
A Massive Shake-Up For The View?
According to the outlet, there is panic because executives at ABC suddenly realized that their bread has been buttered on only one side for way too long. Apparently, they really can’t afford to alienate “the president-elect’s majority.”
Sources that leaked the news about The View claimed:
[The execs are] keenly aware of the need to diversify viewpoints on the show and are determined to reflect America’s diverse perspectives…It’s about resonating with a broader audience…It’s simple math. Why alienate the majority of Americans?
The outlet also noted that “ABC News Group President Debra O’Connell and new ABC News boss Almin Karamehmedovic conducted meetings with the network’s executive producers and senior editorial leaders.” And they look at more pro-Trump hosts and panelists on The View.
Is It Too Late To Win A Conservative Audience?
Over on platform X, formerly Twitter, it seems as if the horse bolted from The View a long time ago. Possibly, conservatives there would rather jump without a parachute than tune into the ABC show.
Influencer Russell Brand opined, “At this point, I think The View should start every episode by saying, “Everything we say in the next 60 minutes is potentially libelous and untrue.”
Meanwhile, Elon Musk mocked the ABC show with a Grok AI meme that scored over 52 million views:
What are your thoughts on the reported shakeup at The View since the election of Donald Trump as President? Do you agree that for way too long, the ABC show has been biased in favor of the Democrats and they can’t afford to alienate the majority of the voters in the USA?
