1000 Lb. Sisters Spoilers – Tammy Slaton Returned To Rehab To Lose Weight
Fans know that at the end of Season 3, Tammy had begun the journey to return to rehab after Dr. Smith drove to her home to check on her. Suddenly, when Chris Combs, Tammy’s brother, had her about two hours from the facility, Tammy became very sleepy. When Chris asked Tammy what her oxygen level was, it was down to 65.
Chris called the facility and workers told them they had the option to go to a hospital but Tammy wanted to continue the trip. Tammy was instructed to put on her bi-pap machine and keep it on until they arrived at the rehab facility.
Once they arrived, Tammy was admitted and taken to her room. Tammy talked about how this was the last time fans would see her at that weight.

At the end of the season last year, Chris told fans that Tammy had stopped breathing the next day and they didn’t believe Tammy would survive. Picking up from there, in the promo, Tammy’s sister Amy Halterman states that “Her body is shutting down.” The video goes on to show Tammy with a tracheotomy (a surgical procedure that creates a hole in the throat to insert a breathing tube).
Although Tammy had already decided that she needed to get with the program and lose the weight she needed, but this was a wake-up call. Tammy may happily say, “I’m still here, bitches!” However, this was after the trach, which at last look she still had and three weeks in a medically induced coma. However, Tammy did lose, according to Chris, 115 lbs while she was in the hospital.
