American Idol Fans Don’t All Want Katy Perry To Leave – Why?

During American Idol Season 21, you could have sworn that Katy Perry suddenly became the new Meghan Markle as fans and some media outlets non-stop slung mud at her.

Actually, some fans who love her as a judge felt that it was almost an orchestrated takedown. While there were a lot of complaints about her, many fans don’t want to see her leave the show. Why is that? Read on to find out. 

American Idol Fans Want Katy Perry To Leave?

During the latest season, Katy and Lionel Ritchie went off to the UK. There, they performed at the coronation concert. Some people felt happy to see the back of her.

After all, it gave them a chance to see the show with someone else. Well, Alanis Morissette and Ed Sheeran appeared as guest judges in May to cover the absence. As they are top-class acts, they did well. But some folks would hate to see Perry leave permanently. 

Rumors that the American Idol judge was under pressure to leave because of complaints, started doing the rounds. Recently she spoke with Extra. In her conversation, she said, “I love my job, and I love what I do.

I know that I miss going out in the world and doing what those kids get to do.” Some fans who want her gone hoped that it meant that she might leave. But, is it really a strong hint?  Actually, it seems that she misses the days when she was young and trying to make a name for herself. 

American Idol Star Hopes Katy Perry Stays

Extremely popular, David Steele, who was the runner-up this year, said that he hopes that the judge stays on the show. On his Instagram, he said, “@katyperry I dunno if you’ll see this, but I hope you stay on American idol. You’re a guiding light, [and] an incredible teacher. And you made me believe that I am my own hero.” Contrary to  reports, he claimed that she’s actually not a “bully.” Instead, he described her as someone who pushed him into areas he never thought he could achieve.  

The American Idol star added, “I’m a better musician and artist after Katy Perry pushed me to believe in my potential, and to exceed my limitations.” Anyway, he had other good things to say about her despite her suggesting that Iam Tongi would take the win: which he did. Many of his fans agreed in the comments that his call for Katy to stay is the right one. 

Why Should the Judge Stay?

Good for you bro! From where I sit as a fan of the show, the way you describe her is how she comes off to me. She seems highly intuitive and a wonderful soul, things I did not expect to feel about her. Nice work sticking up for her!

Not people calling Katie a bully….did they even watch when Simon Cowell was a judge?? Nobody is perfect or sweet all the time, and no one should be expected to be.

Truth hurts and not everyone can take it. I wouldn’t say she was rude, I would say however she knows first hand how tough the industry is and if you are not one million percent in it, then go home. 

I truly hope she continues as a judge. She seems like a genuinely good person who helps the contestants. Well said Oliver!”
