‘Bachelorette’ Jenn Tran Claps Back At Asian Naysayer

Bachelorette Jenn Tran is the first Asian American lead on the ABC show, and most people like to see that representation.

Before that, Rachel Lindsay was the first African American lead. However, Jenn recently clapped back at a nayser on social media. And, fans of the show were happy to see it. 

Jenn Tran Nearly Broke Her NDA?

The Bachelorette lead was on The Bachelor with Joey Graziadei and fans liked the cheerful and attractive college graduate. So, many ABC fans were happy to hear that she was chosen as the first Asian American star. Actually, the Vietnamese American nearly spoiled her outcome, and briefly, fans wondered if she would end up being slammed for breaking her NDA, 

Jenn Tran’s season started soon after The Golden Bachelorette was announced. Well, following what seems to be the cancellation or hiatus of Bachelor in Paradise, and the divorce of the Golden Bachelor couple, some people have a downer on ABC. Perhaps that triggered a critic who upset Jenn recently. 

Bachelorette Lead Claps Back At Asian Naysayer 

On Reddit, a fan of The Bachelorette shared a post from Instagram where the lead had clapped back at a troll. In it, they had said that they felt being Asian was too big a deal made by the franchise. The troll said that they felt she hadn’t “represented being Asian.” Additionally, they claimed that Americans are “all the same people,” and it “doesn’t…matter” what color they are. So, they claimed ABC was promoting racism. 

In response, Jenn Tran angrily clapped back. She said:

Infuriating that people like this exist. I don’t love bringing light to negativity but this is so upsetting to me because this comment comes from someone who grew up never knowing what it feels like to truly feel like an outsider in your own world. This person is selfish and lacks empathy…

The Bachelorette also talked about how important it is to get to know about various “cultures” and “differences.”

• Oh gd I’ve heard that one before about being a first generation immigrant. Someone always telling you you’re not American enough or not X enough. It’s wild. Leave us alone lol.
• LOL, my god people are dumb. I’m sure some of the same people are claiming she’s not American since she’s not white. Oops, did I say that aloud?
• How can stupid people like this exist???? I hope Jenn protects her peace.
• It’s amazing that these people are fed up [with] some of the most positive, interesting, non-“aggressive” celebration of race differences we even see on TV. It’s been nothing but GOOD- telling us about Jenn’s life, family, heritage, and that of the other contestants. There’s been NO negative. And yet somehow it’s “race crap”…?
