Kate Chastain and Ben Robinson enjoyed a sweet friendship during their time on Below Deck. But did chief stew Kate and chef Ben take that relationship to the point of becoming friends with benefits? And did that then lead to Kate’s recent baby? Rumors got so intense among Below Deck fans that Chastain finally cleared up the mystery through Twitter.
And using her trademark sarcastic wit, the Below Deck chief stew tweeted, “For the record, the only thing this handsome guy has in common with any chef is the tendency to get emotional around meal times.” A photo of her adorable baby boy accompanied Kate’s post. That pic followed Chastain’s introduction of her baby boy on Instagram.

And Kate also share the name of her baby boy on social media. “Hard Launch: Sullivan Cay ,” wrote Chastain. Delighting Below Deck fans, the beloved Captain Lee Rosbach followed up with his loving response. “Congratulations Kate, wishing you both all the best,” wrote Captain Lee.

But not even the captain known as the Stud Of The Sea, Captain Lee Rosbach, could stop that baby daddy speculation. And even as Bravo’s Below Deck cheered, “A new yachtie has entered the world. Congratulations Kate! ,” fans shared their guesses. For instance, several kept insisting that Kate’s baby looks like Chef Ben.
And despite Chastain insisting that Ben did not father her baby, her social media filled up with comments such as “He’s very cute, my first thought was that he looks just like Ben!! Anyone else think so.” However, others focused on Captain Lee’s comments. Will the Stud Of The Sea become little Sullivan Cay’s godfather? Fans hope so!
But since romance rumors in Below Deck seasons 2 and 3, the 40-year-old new mom and 42-year-old chef have dodged questions. And Ben shared he experienced “no regrets” about hooking up in the past with Kate. However, Chastain teased that she didn’t remember any hookups, pointed out Us magazine.

And Kate shocked her social media followers when she announced her pregnancy in December 2022. “I’m already planning so many birthday theme parties for you,” Chastain wrote to her then-unborn baby. However, the Below Deck alum noted that she planned to raise her baby “solo. And perhaps with some help,” she hinted. “But I’m happy to do it alone. I think being a chief stew really trained me for it.”
