Below Deck Spoilers – Captain Lee Loves ‘Magical’ Sailing Experience
As Captain Lee steered his yacht for his final episode of Below Deck, he reflected on the magic. “Being a captain and being out on the water, there’s just something kind of magical out there. It feels right, it’s kind of like Christmas morning.”
And the body-building guests for that final episode proved perfect for Lee, who worked out daily to regain his health, noted People.
But although Captain Lee seeks to please his guests, he did refuse one request. And when the guests wanted the crew to appear in a body building show, Rosbach stepped down. “There is only so much lipstick you can put on this pig,” joked the famous Stud Of The Sea.
However, Lee turned serious as he steered back to port for the final time. And he noted that nearing the dock feels like “a bittersweet moment. It’s your last docking — you sure as hell don’t want to f— that up.” But at last, it became time for crew farewells. “I really hate to say goodbye to any of this crew. I would stack them up against anyone, I really would.”
Below Deck Spoilers – Captain Lee Bids Farewell To His ‘Best Decision’
However, Lee didn’t stay sentimental for long. And he joked, “Going on 40 years I’ve been a yacht captain, have I seen a lot of crazy s—? Is a 40-pound robin fat? Yeah.”
But as a show montage aired, Rosbach reflected on his experiences. “Have I been in situations that I didn’t think I was gonna make it through? Oh yeah.” But he added, “Deciding to become a yacht captain has been the best decision I have ever made in my life.”
And as Lee looked back on season 10, he shared, “I want people to look at the job that I’ve done and go, ‘He set the bar high, and he kept it high.’ God d—, what a ride. I don’t know what’s gonna happen in the future,” admitted Rosbach. “But the ocean’s always gonna be part of me. I’ve still got the best god d— job in the world.”
Since its debut in July 2013, Below Deck has turned Captain Lee and some of his crew into reality TV stars. For instance, Kate Chastain formed a strong friendship with Lee when she worked as his chief stew. And she shared, “You know, I think he had a great run. Ten years! It was his choice, for health reasons,” Kate added of Lee’s exit. “And I think he’s pleased with it.”
