Real Housewives Of Orange County – Heather Dubrow Saves Husband’s Life

The scary health drama began when Botched star Terry Dubrow, 64, dined with his wife Heather Dubrow and their son Nicholas, 19.

However, then the Real Housewives Of Orange County (RHOC) star, 54, observed that her husband had begun slurring his words. And she told their son to call 911, according to People.

Terry later discovered that he experienced a frightening mini-stroke. Known as a transient ischemic attack (TIA), the mini stroke initially went overlooked. And paramedics described the Botched star’s vitals as normal.

However, the Real Housewives star demanded to get more tests done at the hospital. And at that point, doctors discovered Terry’s patent foramen ovale (or PFO), a hole between the left and right atria (upper chambers) of the heart that didn’t close naturally after birth.

Because a blood clot traveled through that PFO to his brain, Dubrow suffered the mini stroke.

RHOC – Terry Dubrow Learns From ‘Terrifying’ Experience

And since recovering, the Botched star wants others to learn from his scary experience. “I learned many things from this terrifying experience,” shared Terry.

“One: If you or anyone around you shows possible signs of a stroke, time is critical. You have five hours to get to a hospital to save your life. Two: If you have traveled recently, make sure you move frequently to keep blood flowing to prevent clots.

Three: PFO is more common (20-30%) than people realize and TIAs and strokes can occur in anyone at any age.”

And the plastic surgeon also urged his fans to “listen to your partner. If they are concerned about something don’t argue, don’t ignore and get it checked out right away.

What they see may be very different than what you perceive. Be grateful for those who love you. I love my wife, thank God for Heather and her persistence and insistence. She truly saved my life.”

Health experts warn that TIA symptoms can resemble a stroke. For example, the possible symptoms include weakness or numbness in the face, leg, or arm, problems seeing, loss of balance, and difficulty walking.

But the length of time for symptoms can vary dramatically, from vanishing in an hour to lasting for a full day.
