Celebrity Big Brother Premiere: What Do The Cast Earn?

Celebrity Big Brother premiered on Wednesday, February 2 and fans heard that The Real Housewives Of Beverly Hills star, Teddi Mellencamp negotiated her pay to appear in the show. So, what do people usually earn on the popular CBS show? As most of them are already quite well off, is it worth it?

Celebrity Big Brother Cast Are Financially Well-Off

A few weeks ago, fans heard that former Bravo star Teddi Mellencamp entered into negotiations about appearing on the show. So, fans believed she probably discussed money and if it was worth her time to leave her kids and go and live elsewhere. However, other Bravo fans thought that she’d do anything to gain more screentime since she was booted from Real Housewives. Actually, she’s not the only person from the Bravo franchise in the show.

The Celebrity Big Brother cast in 2022 also brings along Cynthia Bailey from Real Housewives of Atlanta. Actually, fans seemed happier to see her. Somehow, Teddi managed to crank up a huge number of critics. Other cast members include Hanna Moakler, Mirai Nagasu, Carson Kressley. and American Idol‘s Todrick Hall. Then there are Chris Kirkpatrick, NBA star Lamar Odom, SNL‘s Chris Kattan, UFC‘s fighter Miesha Tate, and actor Todd Bridges. None of them are short of a penny or two.

What Are People Paid To Appear On Celebrity Big Brother?

The Sun reported on how much the cast can potentially earn if they win. Only one winner gets to gloat over the “grand prize of $250,000.” Meanwhile, TMZ reported that each person usually earns in the region of $100,000. Mind you, the show comes with 15 Episodes and fans will see two celebrities evicted each week in one of the hottest and fastest versions of the show. After that, they go and sit on the Jury.

Of course, the added advantage is the attractive setting of the Celebrity Big Brother mansion. There are no badly constructed shacks and badly cooked fish for those contestants. Unfortunately, fans on Twitter were not overly impressed with the premiere episode. One fan, @brooke581 said, “As underwhelming of an episode of Big Brother that I’ve ever seen. And I’ve seen them all, international versions included. How do you screw up something so easy, so bad??”

Fans Comment On The Show

As usual, Twitter comes alive during the episodes of Celebrity Big Brother. Some comments were quite scathing, including this about Teddi by @rhonda_marie: “20 minutes into #CelebrityBigBrother and I already want Teddy to go home.”

Meanwhile, other folks fumed about a leaked list that included RuPaul’s Drag Race star, Shangela as a cast member. Unfortunately, that never happened.
