Chrisley Family Sued Again, What Happened?

The Chrisley family has been sued again. They can’t escape their legal problems. Todd and Julie Chrisley are serving time in prison for bank fraud and tax evasion. Read on to learn more.

Todd And Julie Chrisley Sued

According to a new report, another man sued Todd and Julie Chrisley. He called out the couple’s efforts to keep the case sealed. The Chrisley Knows Best stars asked the Tennessee courts to seal their ongoing legal battle. But it has nothing to do with their current case.

It’s related to their son Grayson Chrisley’s 2022 accident. They argued that it would cause a “serious embarrassment” for their family if the court revealed the documents. Patrick Rykwalder accused the reality stars of trying to make money from this “terrible situation.”

Radar Online shared the details of the couple’s efforts to request the court to seal the official documents. Rykwalder sued Grayson, Savannah, Todd, and Julie Chrisley over the car accident that occurred on Interstate 65 in Tennessee. The accident took occurred on November 12, 2022.

According to the lawsuit, Patrick Rykwalder drove a 2020 Dodge Ram. Grayson Chrisley crashed in the back of his truck. Todd and Julie’s son drove a Ford 5150 pickup truck, which his parents owned.

Rykwalder accused Grayson of distracted driving. He claims the former reality star was “not paying attention to the roadway in the moments immediately preceding the rear impact.”

The lawsuit also reveals that Todd and Julie Chrisley’s son “failed to act appropriately under the circumstances, which included at a minimum maintaining a safe operating distance from other motor vehicles, maintaining a safe operating speed, and avoiding being distracted by electronic devices within his motor vehicle.”

Chrisley Family – Dismissed The Case

At the time, Todd and Julie Chrisley dismissed the case. They requested that the court dismiss all the claims against their son.

Patrick Rykwalder and the Chrisleys even fought over their phone records. Todd and Julie claim that Rywalder made a “clear effort to harass them.”

They pushed to get the case sealed. Rykwalder doesn’t agree with their request? He claims they don’t have a good enough reason to seal the case. Rykwalder argued that the family talked about the case on their podcasts.

“The irony of these arguments is that the Defendants have exploited the facts of this case to remain relevant by making statements to media outlets, they’ve posted about the facts of the case on various social media platforms and publicly discussed the facts of the case on podcasts,” Patrick Rykwalder’s lawyer said.

Accidents happen! If this didn’t involve a public figure we would not hear about it. If Grayson was at fault have his insurance pay damages if he was breaking law by being on phone give him a ticket. If other driver was hurt then party at fault should pay. Honestly the law is cut dry why being it to the public. Seems like people see a pay day out of this.

Hmmmm. . .a car was rear-ended because the driver wasn’t paying attention. That would probably be about 98% of cars being rear-ended. Nothing speciation about this case, except an idiot wanting his 15 minutes of fame.
