The Voice – Announces Season 26 Coaches
The NBC Universal Upfront at Radio City Musical Hall was held in New York City on Monday, May 13.
The Voice lineup for Season 26 was revealed. The lineup includes a mix of newbies and familiar faces. Gwen Stefani is making her grand return.
Reba McEntire announced in a pre-recorded video that she’s returning to the show. She also revealed that Blake Shelton’s wife and rapper Snoop Dogg would return next season.
Snoop appeared on stage to announce newcomer, Michael Bublé. He came out on stage to perform for the crowd.
The singing competition looked different during Season 25. For the first time, the show had two coaches in the same seat.
Country music duo, Dan + Shay shared one of the red revolving chairs. They sat alongside, Reba, John Legend, and Chance the Rapper.
Most fans have enjoyed watching the country singer on the show. She made her debut in Season 24. Over time, Reba hasn’t become a fan favorite as previously expected. Most fans feel that she’s not the best fit for the show.
Why NBC Show Has A Revolving Door
Meanwhile, other fans want to know why the show can’t keep the lineup of coaches. What made the show a success was the chemistry among the coaches.
Hairstylists Jerilynn Stephens and Darbie Wieczorak explained the reason for the ever-changing coaches on The Voice.
“Things that contribute to the people coming back to the show… would be the coaches changing,” Jerilynn explained. “I think that the contestants are always new and fresh – new faces. And then having Dan + Shay for the double chair, that’s a really cool experience.”
Gwen Stefani’s husband Blake Shelton considered a return to the show. He admitted that he would come back on one condition. Blake would prefer having all four original coaches together.
Blake coached the first season alongside Adam Levine, Christina Aguilar, and Cee-Lo Green.
A source also told The U.S. Sun that Blake would also consider returning if Gwen was invited alongside him. He would enjoy being on the show more with his friends and wife there. What are your thoughts on The Voice Season 26 lineup? Share your thoughts below in the comment section.
