Jennifer Shah, star of Real Housewives of Salt Lake City, has been arrested alongside her assistant, Stuart Smith. Jen Shah and her assistant were arrested for wire fraud and money laundering. According to the Manhattan United States Attorney’s Office, Real Housewives’ Jen was involved in a telemarketing scheme, promising to sell false business services to her victims. The duo was arrested on Tuesday, March 30, 2021.
After Jennifer Shah’s arrest on Tuesday, a federal judge released Jen and her assistant on the condition that they neither contact each other nor should they be involved in any telemarketing scheme. After a riotous court appearance on Wednesday, Jen’s case has been postponed until Friday, April 2, when the Real Housewives cast member is expected to appear in court.

According to the indictment, Jen and her assistant were involved in a telemarketing scheme between 2012 and March 2021. Through the scheme, the pair allegedly defrauded hundreds of Americans. The indictment also alleges that many of the victims are above fifty-five years.

The prosecuting attorney, Audrey Strauss has released a statement about Real Housewife Jen’s arrest and indictment.
“Jennifer Shah, who portrays herself as a wealthy and successful business person on ‘reality television, and Stuart Smith, who is portrayed as Shah’s ‘first assistant,’ allegedly generated and sold ‘lead lists’ of innocent individuals for other members of their scheme to repeatedly scam,” Strauss said.

HSI agent, Peter C Fitzhugh said Jen sold the personal information of her victims to other people in the scheme. The agent said Jennifer Shah neither saw nor treated her victims as humans.
