Barely 8 months since the disgraced “19 Kids & Counting” alum Josh Duggar was transferred to federal penitentiary in Seagoville, Texas, he stands at risk of facing gang fights and medical neglect.
In May 2022, Josh Duggar was sentenced to 12 and a half years in prison for being guilty of receiving and being in possession of child pornography.
According to U.S. Sun, Josh Duggar and about 2000 inmates in Seagoville FCI are kept in bad conditions; they’re served expired meals on regular basis, experience medical neglects, have no hot water, etc.
Josh Duggar — Seagoville FCI Lacks Security
Someone whose family member is in Seagoville prison told U.S. Sun exclusively, “There’s not really much security around because they’re dramatically understaffed.”
The person went on to say “The prison has pretty heavy politics, which means there are gangs in it. Fortunately, it is nowhere near as violent as a medium-security facility. It’s not actually a very violent facility.”
“But it is just a dangerous situation, given the level of neglect and so I know that my family member has felt concerned for his, I guess I would say he’s always concerned for his well-being, even if he feels physically safe.”
Two different lawsuits have been filed against Seagovile penitentiary. Both were filed by inmates of the prison. One sued the facility for letting him out into the public despite knowing he would be in danger.
According to the lawsuit which was filed by the inmate —per U.S. Sun, the inmate said, “I was assaulted with a lock by an inmate who was paid by other inmates to do the assaulting.” Continuing, the inmate said, “I informed [staff] I am in fear for my life and can’t stay here. On September 16, I was released back to general public to only have my life threatened again.”
Josh Duggar — Cases Of Medical Neglect And Poor Living Conditions
The same source whose family member is in the FCI shared that his family member “Hasn’t received any medical treatment for it in two and a half years for his disability. He’s asked and they keep telling him that he’s on the list. He needs glasses, and he’s been on the list to get an optometry appointment for over a year and still hasn’t gotten any.”
“My family member has had situations where he’s had a cold or COVID. And sometimes it’s a couple of days before he’s able to get any kind of attention at all.”
The source also claimed that he knows someone whose husband often gets sick because he’s exposed to cold and also “undernourished.” It didn’t stop there. The source also alleged that the prisoners are been fed bad food on several occasions.
“The food they get is regularly expired. They’re just like really disgustingly expired, always by at least a couple of weeks. And it’s like milk. All sorts of like stuff that can’t be expired for that long. They had a run of cereal that had bugs in it, and so people just couldn’t eat their cereal because it was filled with bugs.”
