Josh Duggar is on the move again. The former 19 Kids and Counting reality star has a new home address, and it marks his fourth federal prison facility in just one year.
Transferred To Ohio
According to an article by KNWA/KFTA, Duggar arrived at the Federal Correctional Institution, Elkton, in Lisbon, Ohio, on July 8, 2026.
The Bureau of Prisons hasn’t said much about the sudden change. Officials only cited “privacy, safety, and security reasons” for the relocation, the outlet reported.
The First Prison Was FCI Seagoville
He keeps packing his bags. Before landing in Ohio, Josh Duggar spent time at FCI Seagoville in Texas. Then he went to the Federal Medical Center in Fort Worth.

A June 18 article by Celebrating the Soaps questioned why he went to the medical center in the first place, noting that those facilities typically handle inmates with major medical or mental health needs.
After that, he moved to the Federal Transfer Center in Oklahoma City. Now, he’s in Ohio.
Legal Team Has Issues With The Moves
His legal team isn’t happy about the constant shuffling. His lawyer, Beau Brindley, previously described these frequent moves as “punitive,” as noted by KNWA/KFTA.
Brindley alleged the transfers stem from prison staff improperly handling his client’s legal mail. It seems like a lot of miles for a guy who isn’t supposed to be going anywhere.
The Original Crimes
Duggar is currently serving a 12-year and 7-month sentence. He was convicted for possession of child sexual abuse materials. According to official records, his scheduled release date is February 2, 2033.
19 Kids and Counting and Counting On fans still have a lot to say about Josh Duggar and his family, especially as his younger brother, Joseph Duggar, faces charges alleging he molested a 9-year-old girl during a 2020 family vacation in Florida.
TLC Fans React To The Moves
In a July 8 YouTube video hosted by Amanda Ray, viewers left strong comments about Duggar’s ongoing legal saga.
One user pointed out the severe nature of his crimes, noting that “Josh’s child victims were under the age of twelve” and that the images involved “sadistic, violent, or masochistic” content, which ultimately lengthened his time behind bars.
Others think his troubles won’t end when he leaves prison. “Once he gets out, he won’t have it easy,” another viewer wrote in the comments.
That same person observed that Duggar “will always live in a prison no matter what,” because his reputation follows him everywhere.
For now, Josh Duggar has to adjust to another set of guards. Some people believe he brought the trouble on himself. As one commentator simply put it, “He doesn’t know how to follow the rules!”
