Chrisley Knows Best followers have seen Todd and Julie Chrisley protest their innocence for months. But despite their denials, both Todd and Julie received prison sentences and guilty verdicts. However, the time in prison has changed Julie’s mentality.
Find out how the Chrisley Knows Best matriarch now feels. And learn about her struggles behind bars. Get all the details below.
Julie Chrisley – Suffers Breakdown In Prison
After spending the past few months in prison, Julie Chrisley feels very differently about her life. And the Chrisley Knows Best matriarch has expressed regret about what she did for fortune and fame. But Julie also blames herself for letting hubby Todd Chrisley persuade her to get involved in a tax fraud scheme. As a result of that scheme, the Chrisley Knows Best matriarch and patriarch will spend years in prison, an insider told the Daily Mail.
And the source also revealed that the 50-year-old mother of Savannah, Grayson, and Chase has suffered during her time behind bars. Because of her regrets over her role in the $30 million crime, Julie has “broken down,” added the insider. And after just a few months of her seven-year sentence at FCM Lexington, “she is not doing well at all,” said the source.
As Julie reflects on her future, “she cannot fathom how she will spend years being locked up,” added the insider. But the Chrisley Knows Best matriarch also feels “that she let her family down.” And as she starts the fourth month of her sentence, Julie has told friends that she wishes she never listened to Todd.
Todd, 54, also has started his own prison sentence, which will last 12 years. But Julie blames him for convincing her that they would never receive a jail sentence. “Todd assured her that they would not go to jail and now Julie regrets what she did in the name of fame,” added the source. However, Julie also now doubts that they can successfully appeal their case.
Julie Chrisley -Matriarch Feels ‘So Sad’
Because of what Julie now realizes about her guilt, she has lost “faith that they will get this overturned,” revealed the insider. “And she is so sad. It is heart-breaking.” The insider’s comments follow what Julie’s daughter Savannah recently revealed about her mother’s emotional health.
And Savannah described Julie as “scared.” In addition to Savannah, Julie and Todd co-parent Chase, 26, and Grayson, 16. Todd also shares his daughter Lindsie, 33, and son Kyle, 31, with his ex-wife Teresa Terry. The Chrisley Knows Best couple took on custody of son Kyle’s daughter Chloe, 10, with his ex Angela Johnson.
However, when Todd and Julie started their prison sentences, Savannah became caretaker for both Chloe and Grayson. And the 25-year-old has not coped well “with trying to be a mom to Chloe and her brother Grayson,” revealed the insider. And it doesn’t help that Julie sends her daily diary to her daughter.
“It was a lot to read, it was tough to see the accounts of her day and just things that she’s scared of or nervous about or just all the thoughts that go through her mind,” admitted Savannah. However, the 25-year-old sought to stay positive. And she revealed that Julie tries to stay busy. “You know, like, she’s trying to do anything and everything, take classes – everything known to man that she can do, she does,” added Savannah. But she admitted that she struggles as the caretaker to her younger brother and niece.
