Lindsie Chrisley Talks About Controlling Daddy
On a recent episode of The Southern Tea podcast, Lindsie talked about her controlling daddy. She recalled a time from her childhood when Todd would dress up Lindsie and Kyle in fancy clothes. He dictated everything they would do and say. One fan mentioned it on the Chrisley Knows Best subreddit.
Todd wanted his family to look “picture perfect,” even when they weren’t in front of the camera. His apparent mental illness affected his children. Fans already had a feeling this family was dysfunctional. Yet, they didn’t know it got this bad.
“That’s truly sad. The family is dysfunctional but the root of it all is their father. Empathy for the kids and how they had to adapt but as adults you have to learn and choose to break the cycle. Everyone has dysfunction – some are worse than others,” one fan noted.

One fan brought up an article from Todd Chrisley’s first wife. She shared the details of their marriage. He wanted everything to look just right. She was so tired of the emotional abuse — especially when things didn’t make him happy.
Some fans defended Kyle and Lindsie. They might be the outcasts of the family, but they probably received the brunt of the toxicity during their childhood.
There were times when Julie said that Todd would treat Lindsie like a “little doll.” Kyle might’ve felt ignored because he was the older son.
Savannah has echoed similar sentiments. She admitted that she always had to be “on” and “perfect” all the time. It’s possible that Todd Chrisley put so much pressure on her that she couldn’t handle it.
