Mama June Fears For Daughter Alana’s Desire To Go To College

Mama June is apprehensive of her daughter Alana, 18, leaving for college and having her dreams crushed.

However, Alana and Lauryn believe Mama June’s has a different reason for not wanting Alana to leave for college.

In all intents and purposes, Alana “Honey Boo Boo” Thompson meant to deliver happy news when she announced that she’s going to college. But to Mama June, it was far from being a welcome news.

Okay, let me reel back just a little here.

When Alana made the decision to go to Colorado and pursue higher education, she confided in her sister Lauryn, 24.

Lauryn, of course, was “ecstatic” to hear the news that Alana was “maturing and growing up and not depending on a man” for her future. However, they both knew that Mama June was not going to take the news with any kind of happy heart.

On Friday’s episode of “Mama June: Family Crisis,” Alana, Lauryn, and husband Josh Efird traveled across state lines to Alabama to help Mama June and husband Justin Stroud move their belongings back to Georgia.

As they went, Lauryn asked, “Are you gonna tell Mama, Alana?”

Alana replied: “For what? Like Mama is not making it seem like she really wants me to go to Colorado. I think she wants me to stay here. She’s finding every excuse in the book why Colorado is not a good idea.”

Lauryn then assumed that the reason Mama June is against it is because she was feeling “a lot of guilt” about leaving them too much during their childhoods and wants Alana to stay in Georgia so she can try to “correct her wrongs.” To this, Lauryn added: “But like girl, it’s a little too late for that now.”

Chilling at their Alabama residence, Mama June made Justin to believe that she isn’t afraid of her youngest child going to college. Why? She claimed that Alana hadn’t even found a place to live or signed up for classes.

“Alana’s college deadline is coming very fastly,” she told cameras. “Do I think she’s ready for college? Nope. But me and Pumpkin are all the time fussin’ cause she’s like ‘Let her spread her wings, let her spread her wings.'”

“I don’t want her to spread her wings and damn crash,” she added.

However, when Alana, Lauryn and Josh showed up, the news they announced was contrary to what Mama June had hoped to hear; Alana was going to college after all.
