Whitney Way Thore and her family go on an emotional roller-coaster in the upcoming season of My Big Fat Fabulous Life.

But previews show Whitney remembering her late mother, Barbara Thore, who died on Dec. 7, 2022. And Thore shares, “I don’t know how we’re gonna go one without her.

But I know that she would want us to figure it out,” Whitney adds in a sneak peek via ET.

And after the funeral, Whitney and her brother Hunter seek to help their father Glenn. Because their dad focused so much on their late mother, the siblings worry about Glenn’s mental health.

And Whitney shares, “It’s like he’s just lost. He said, ‘I don’t want to do anything without your mother.'”

As a result, Whitney and Hunter reconnect with a long-lost half-sister. Because the siblings never knew about this child of Glenn’s, though, it isn’t easy.

And Hunter confesses, “I’m still trying to adjust to the fact that my dad fathered a child out of wedlock.”

However, spoilers for the new season of My Big Fat Fabulous Life via the List reveal that Whitney and Hunter do agree to meet up with their half-sister Angie.

And Whitney shares that for the first time, their father Glenn has begun chatting on the phone with Angie. The upcoming season, which begins September 5, will reveal the family heading off to visit the long-lost half-sister.

Other previews reveal Whitney and Hunter deciding to create a bucket list for Glenn after their mother dies. And in an effort to lift their father’s spirits, the siblings get him to try different activities. For instance, the trio heads off for a tattoo and even indoor skydiving.

However, My Big Fat Fabulous Life fans don’t seem impressed at the upcoming drama for the reality TV show. And some on Reddit went down the rabbit hole of accusing TLC producers of scripting the show.

For instance, one complained, “Sounds like a soap opera from the 80’s. Actress leaves series so they kill her character off. Actress wants to come back, they bring back her twin sister who was abandoned/kidnapped as a baby.”

And another scoffed, “My conspiracy theory is that the brother refused to do the show and this ‘long-lost’ (read: abandoned) sister is an actress hired to recreate the situation in a more controlled way.

Why they chose a woman I don’t know. Since it’s no secret that Whitney lurks here maybe she insisted it be a woman just to be like ‘See? You guys were wrong’!”
