The Price Is Right has been a mainstay on daytime television for decades. The game show premiered in 1956 with host Bill Cullen and was rebooted in 1972 with legend Bob Barker.
Drew Carey has hosted the program since 2007. Normally, the show takes a break during the summer. However, fans were shocked when it was removed from the lineup without warning. Keep on reading to learn more.
Price Is Right – Fans Shocked By Bold Move
The Price Is Right fans are upset with CBS. The show was removed from daytime without notice. The mix up happened shortly after fans were upset over the lack of episodes. On Monday, July 8, viewers witnessed host Drew Carey in a wrestling costume and were confused.
CBS aired a rerun of the 2023 Halloween special. But most fans didn’t understand what was going on. Most of them took to X, formerly Twitter, to react to the rerun. “What is happening?” one fan asked.
The Price Is Right fans also reacted to Monday’s episode on Reddit. Most of them were confused over seeing Drew Carey in costume. But the game show typically airs reruns after the Fourth of July.
“Is the show done for a while? Did I miss somewhere in the last episode of an announcement about a break or an off-season until episodes start airing again?” one fan asked.
“Noticed some repeat episodes. Probably off for a summer break. They do it every year,” one user responded.
“The Price is Right always takes the summer off. Season 53 will begin late September or early October. The last episode of the season was July 4,” another user commented.
Drew Carey – Makes Huge Mistake
Until Season 53 premieres in fall, Price Is Right fans will see reruns on weekdays. In a latest episode, Drew Carey made a huge mistake. A contestant named Barbara played a game called “Pockcet Change.” She had to guess the price of a Chevy to win it.
Barbara got the second number right. However, Drew forgot one of the rules. He didn’t tell her to grab a card from the wall to collect her winning change. When she walked up to the board, she rolled her eyes and looked at the audience.
“You weren’t going to let me have a card, were you?” she sarcastically asked.
“No, I was! You’re just doing so well I blanked,” he said.
Drew Carey was recently accused of picking favorites and allowing those contestants to win. What are your thoughts on the show being pulled from daytime?

My husband watches every day. Insists I watch it with him. It’s the one show we watch together. We are now retired at 73. Please put it back on
CRAZY TALK!!! Drew is the BEST thing that has happened to the Price is Right!!! If they decide to remove The Price is Right I will not watch the whole network again … EVER!!!
Yes please put Drew and TPIR back on daytime TV! I don’t see favoritism at all!! We need Drew!!! He’s one of a handful of celebrities who tells fans to take care of themselves and their mental health!!! This is so, so important!

Put the prices right back on
The show has been on most of my life I’m 61 this year. Looking forward to seeing what CBS is going to do with the millions of people who want eleven o’clock to come every day. They do everything before 11 o’clock. So we can sit in their house and come on down.what do us robots do.what is the ancer.
Please keep Price Is Right where it has been for so many years. It brings so much joy to thousands. Seems like there are some who have nothing better to do than complain about a few different things on the show. Drew has, does, and will continue doing a great job. Just enjoy it.
All shows have reruns, and this is no different! As far as them “letting someone win”, that’s a crock, because I was on the show, and played like everyone else, and we all had equal chances of winning or losing. I won, but so did lots of people, and there was no behind the scenes stuff, or anything like that! It was all done in real time, and when the hour was up, it was up!
The show (when I was on) ran for 1 hour and 15 minutes, and the 15 minutes was for a warm-up comedy set by the announcer, to get everyone riled up to have fun, and the hour was the exact show, start to finish!
Day time is price is right. Don’t mess with this show.

I don’t know what CBS, is doing lately, but taking off favorite shows like, the price is right, and Blue Bloods. Will make many move to another network.
Crazy to think Drew could show favoritism to anybody. He has no idea what’s on a card or behind a sign that a model is holding. He doesn’t add up grocery prices for a contestant to pick. I just hope that “The Price Is Right” is never canceled!
Please don’t take the Price Is Right off of CBS, I love this program I’ve been watching this ever since I retired, I can’t wait for it to come on.

It’s been on everyday since the last one of the season July 4th !! It’s on everyday at 10am cbs, reruns of the year ! What is with people ! Game shows take summers off ! I don’t get what is so hard abt this !
I was wondering why we were seeing reruns. CBS better keep TPIR (The Price is Right) on! My husband and I watch every episode, and keep a clipboard just for the showcases. No one shows any favoritism, especially on TPIR! I would question ‘Let’s Make a Deal ‘ though. Please keep TPIR right where it is, and Drew Carey as host forever! It’s funny, before Carey was host, I didn’t care for him. Now I love him!
The entire staff of TPIR deserve time off like anybody else! If you can’t tell that a,halloween episode is a rerun then you have bigger problems!
Why would you take a beloved family show off the air, there’s enough garbage shows on the air, Please Bring Back The Family Show, Price Is Right, It Will Never Get Old.

Leave Price is right on. I have ot set automatically on my dvr in case I am not home. Their is no cheating on this show. There’s always one person has to complain. CBS is taking off good shows to put some silly sit coms on.

Come on , people all shows do reruns at one time or another. Seeing Drew and the crew in the Halloween costumes and all the people in the audience was a pure delight again and if you didn’t realize it was a rerun well that’s on you.

I’m in Canada and we love the show So disappointed with so many reruns. I understand summer break but we miss them. Sure hope everything will be the same come September ♥️♥️♥️
I record this show everyday. I don’t care if it is rerun. I love love watching this show. It helps to watch something fun and mindless in this crazy world we live in. Please Please Please please put it back on. What is wrong? This is not fair to us who love this show and watch it daily. Begging you! Turn it back on!!!!!!!
What are their plans for that hour? Two hours of “The Talk”? Ugh. Where are my utensils? Put forks in my eyes, and pierce my eardrums with an ice pick. Leave TPIR alone. Get rid of some of the other garbage that’s out there.
Every child has watched price is right with grandparents it gives a child and.agrandparents something to enjoy together and create wonderful memories.
