Rain Brown: Arrest Case Still Unresolved Amid Pregnancy?

Rain Brown's pregnancy raises questions about her burglary case. What happened in court?

Recent news on social media arrived via Alaskan Bush People (ABP) matriarch, Ami Brown, that Rain Brown is pregnant. While some folks celebrated, others wondered whether Rain might end up raising her child behind bars.

Of course, that relates to the arrest of the Discovery alum and her husband Josiah Lorton last year. But what was the outcome of that arrest?

The Arrest

We dug around in search of a court outcome. But first, a refresher might be necessary. In mid-April last year, we reported that Rain (legally named Merry Christmas Kathryn Raindrop Brown) and Josiah Lorton ended up in custody in Okanogan, Washington.

While the charges seemed serious, Rain took to her social media and reminded folks that they should “stick around to hear my side of the story.” As ABP fans saw screenshots of arrest records, they felt a bit skeptical there was an innocent side to the story.

The Charges

Both of them faced charges of alleged first-degree burglary and first-degree malicious mischief. Meanwhile, Rain Brown also faced an additional charge of second-degree criminal trespassing.

Later, more details arrived, and per The Ashley’s Reality Roundup, who cited The Sun, the duo allegedly stole tens of thousands in cash, guns, wine, and gold coins. Reportedly, it all went down at Josiah’s uncle, Jason Ayer’s place.

A Court Appearance

Beyond the alleged theft, the property itself sustained roughly $5,000 in damages. While the couple pleaded not guilty during their initial court appearance on April 14, 2025, a judge found sufficient probable cause for the case to move forward.

In other words, the judge felt that the prosecution had a good case. While they were released on bond, naturally, ABP fans wondered what happened next.

Updates On Court Outcomes?

As of February 23, 2026, it seems an outcome hasn’t happened yet. Despite checking on TruthFinder, we couldn’t establish a verdict or sentencing. Mainly because a paid upgrade is required.

But notably, no other mainstream outlets reported on the case being finalized. Additonally, it’s unclear whether Rain’s claims that a former manager stirred up the allegations amounted to anything in 2025.

For now, it seems that lack of a public update on a conviction or dismissal suggests that the case stalled. Either it is still working its way through the Washington court system, or it moved into private negotiations.

Not Behind Bars Now

From social media, Alaskan Bush People fans know that Rain Brown isn’t behind bars. And seeing she’s pregnant, it seems that Josiah Lorton isn’t in prison, either.

Nevertheless, the serious nature of the alleged crimes indicates a potential concern for her and her baby if a guilty verdict ever arrives.
