Todd Chrisley and Julie Chrisley will experience very different holidays this year. And as the Chrisley Knows Best couple sit behind bars, they hope that their upcoming appeal hearing will result in freedom.
However, with the appeal set for April 2024, Todd and Julie must wait before they get the chance to explain why they deserve to return to their mansion.
But as the family mourns their “sad” situation, Savannah Chrisley has made special holiday plans, as revealed below.
Todd Chrisley – Wants Freedom
Julie Chrisley and Todd Chrisley’s attorney, Jay Surgent, offered an update on the Chrisley Knows Best couple’s appeal hearing via TV Insider. Because of a postponement, Todd and Julie must wait until the week of April 15, 2024.
And that delay from the original schedule of March 2024 made Todd feel disappointed. “Todd isn’t happy,” admitted Surgent. “But he’s content with the oral argument.”
However, the entire Chrisley Knows Best clan holds onto hope. And the family believes that “the judge will give full consideration and reverse the convictions,” according to the attorney. But that hope means ignoring the fact that Todd and his wife Julie faced guilty verdicts for both bank and tax fraud last year.
Chrisley Clan Celebrates Christmas
Todd and Julie initially received a combined sentence of 19 years in federal prison. However, officials have reduced Todd’s 12-year sentence at FPC Pensacola in Florida to 10 years. And they cut Julie’s seven-year sentence at FMC Lexington, Kentucky, to five years.
Meanwhile, Todd’s and Julie’s children, including Savannah and Chase Chrisley, will visit their parents at separate prisons during the holidays. And the kids look forward to meeting up, “even if it’s at an institution,” added Surgent.
But although the Chrisley Knows Best clan feel “sad about that,” the family holds onto “faith they are coming home.” And meanwhile, Savannah will host the family for a “traditional” holiday dinner at home on December 25. Savannah’s niece Chloe, her brothers Chase and Grayson, and their grandmother, Nanny Faye, will gather for the holiday feast.
Savannah Chrisley – Shares Appeal, Todd Chrisley Complains
The progress of Todd’s appeal made his daughter Savannah feel so emotional that she cried in an Instagram video. And the Chrisley Knows Best star shared that the appeals court accepted the family’s oral arguments.
“I got a call this morning,” revealed Savannah. “And the appeals court has granted our oral arguments. So, I literally was sobbing. We’re one step closer to getting mom and dad home. The kids are freaking out. I’m freaking out. I got to explain it to Chloe. It’s just amazing.”
And Savannah gushed about the opportunity to head to court “and argue why mom and dad should be home. God is good,” she added. However, Todd focused on slamming the FPC Pensacola facility for its alleged “inhumane” conditions.
And in his first interview since his imprisonment, the Chrisley Knows Best patriarch claimed that the guards issued a threat. “What we need to do is we need to put him in diesel therapy and put him in shackles,” said Todd in allegedly quoting the prison guards.
And the family patriarch claimed that guards wanted to “let him ride around the country for a time and then bring him back.” Todd shared that the guards thought that would “humble” the Chrisley Knows Best star.
However, Todd also slammed his living conditions as “so disgustingly filthy.” And he described the food as “a year past expiration.” But FPC Pensacola reacted by describing the food as “nutritious.”
