Sister Wives news and updates reveal heartbreak for Meri Brown. And the 52-year-old Sister Wives star shared that her brother Adam died at age 54.
However, Meri also revealed what she learned from her relationship with Adam. Keep reading to learn more about what the Sister Wives star shared, including what caused Adam’s death.
Sister Wives Spoilers – Meri Mourns Brother’s Death
Meri Brown turned to Instagram on Friday to share her heartbreak over her brother Adam’s death.
And in her social media post, the Sister Wives star revealed that her brother died on Thursday only “2 months short of his 55th birthday.” However, Meri also posted a slideshow of photos of Adam with her, noted People.
And then the Sister Wives star recalled how Adam sent her a text about a month ago. In his message, Adam revealed that he had decided to halt his chemotherapy treatment.
And Meri shared that her brother made that decision “due to the rapid progression of his cancer & deterioration of his body.”
But the Sister Wives star also revealed what she learned from Adam. And she wrote, “I will move forward living, loving, forgiving, remembering. The relationship I had with him taught me many things, and I have no doubt will continue to teach me things. I remain open to those lessons & look forward to them with anticipation.”
Sister Wives Spoilers – Meri Recalls Learning About Adam’s Cancer
However, Meri also recalled how she felt when Adam told her about his diagnosis of terminal cancer. And when her brother shared that “he potentially had only weeks or months to live,” the news “hit me like a ton of bricks. After his passing, I would be the one remaining from the original four,” the Sister Wives star revealed.
And Meri recalled, “We lost Teresa, our sister just younger than me, to cancer in 2006. We lost our oldest brother Marc to heart issues in 2015. Now Adam to another type of cancer. That leaves me. Now, I understand that it’s not just me,” she clarified.
But though Meri still has “3 younger sisters with us, the 7 of us just mom’s kids. Plus many other siblings from our large family structure,” she struggles with Adam’s death. And she shared it left her “as the one remaining of the original four. The only 4 that were born in CA and have memories of our young childhood there.”
Sister Wives Spoilers – Meri Honors Her Brother
And Meri felt that becoming the last of the “only 4 that were in existence before we moved to Utah where mom & dad began their lives as a plural family” hit hard. “Maybe because we were born in closer succession, with only 1-1/2 to 2 years between us all? Even still, Elaine, child number 5, was only 3 years later,” she added.
And Meri explained, “There’s always been something about the original 4. Not better, just different. Not closer, just different. Maybe I’ll figure it out someday, maybe I won’t. Only time will tell.” But Meri promised to cherish her memories of Adam “with honor, kindness, & love.”
The death of her brother comes amid a tough year for the Sister Wives star. Meri ended her 32-year marriage to husband Kody Brown in December 2022. And she shared on social media during the summer, “I’ve kind of been in a place recently where I’ve been allowing the opinions and the judgments and actions of others to kind of get in my head. And it’s kind of brought me to a little bit of a challenging place.”
